Well, quitting when you haven't yet made everyone know how valuable you are is definitely not the move. You want them to know what they are missing when you leave so that it's all the more dramatic. You also want to wait until the perfect opportunity has come along so you won't have any dark nights of the soul where you regret your decision and try to convince yourself that you'd rather be miserable there.

It meant she needed to lie low for a bit, figure out the perfect strategy, and make sure she got the pettiest payback on her boss. It started with a bogus assignment he gave to their team about how management could be improved, which OP knew would not be taken seriously because every previous attempt to offer better solutions was rejected. So, she decided to use Chat GPT to write the most long-winded answer ever.
